Autumn and Winter on peaceful & traditional Mykonos island from the end of October

Mykonos island in autumn and winter: the island is peaceful and beautiful for a relaxing stay or visit. A blue sky, empty beaches, and wonderful walks in the hills…
we cannot promise you this every day.. but this is usually the case till the beginning of January. Enjoy a romantic and quiet holiday on this beautiful isle.
What to do: The visitors and winter tourists come to the island to discover a traditional Greek island, to escape busy Athens after some business days, or to quiet down after a long European Tour before traveling further on to Egypt Israel or Asia…
Apart from traditional tourists you will find some hikers, walkers, readers, writers, bikers…
You can still visit beautiful Delos, hike through deserted mountains, walk on empty beaches,
explore the other part of the island with some monasteries., do horse riding… or take part at local festivities or gatherings and meet the friendly Mykonians.
The Weather:
Mykonos’ climate is Mediterranean and mild.
Autumn has usually beautiful sunny days and clear skies, and the temperature lowers only gradually.
There are many beautiful days for beach going and swimming till sometimes till early January.
The real winter-months are also mild, as the temperature never drops very low, even in January.
At the most only some 30 days will need a bit of heating… The island has a significant percentage of humidity due to south-easterly winds and rain, especially from mid-January till the end of March with some possible storms and northern colder winds.
It rarely snows, only once every 10 years. But the clear blue sky exist for most of the winter anyway.. that’s why we live here.

The week-ends with a lot of Athenians coming to the island will still have parties at some Greek discos and bars. There are also still enough recommended taverns and restaurants open from November onwards till March..
Lotus Bar/Restaurant : a romantic little place with nice reputation.
il Passagio , with good cook Makis with Greek dips, hors-d’oeuvres and specialties
Appaloosa Restaurant, Goumenio square: nice salads and tex-mex specialities, also busy meeting place.
Taverna Italiana: Italian restaurant in the same town area Lakka.
King Pizza Restaurant, Agia Anna Square
Christos’ Place at Aegli: some fish specialities and daily main dish, also coffee shop and bar.
Marco Polo, restaurant, Lakka square. meats and on the spit recipes.
and all coffee shops along the waterfront are open for breakfast and light meals.
especially recommended: Kazarma, Pezoula, Kamares….
Night life: still plenty of bars open, busy with a young Greek crowds at the week-ends.

Mykonos Bar and La Mer ( Greek music and dancing) near Skarpa and Little Venice
Four Roses Bar, Antikas, mostly local young crowd.
Aristote Bar: Greek late night music bar
Kamares: new with good international music on waterfront.
Super Paradise bar: very busy with local young crowds at week-ends…
Zorba: open on week-end and holidays: sometimes live Greek music bands.
