A1: Mykonos Accommodation Center is a general services tourism agency established in 1981 on Mykonos Island.
We are licensed by the Greek National Tourism Organization and offer travelers and travel agencies world-wide a personalized service with "tailor made" solutions for hotel reservations, holiday rentals, excursions, tour bookings and travel services for both Mykonos and the surrounding Cyclades islands.

A2: M.A.C. is a very professional agency with the best local knowledge of Mykonos Island and many repeated clients from around the world. MAC operates in many languages and is a member of the ASTA, HATTA and IGLTA. We are also recommended by many guide books
such as The Lonely Planet and The Rough Guide. Our main focus is to provide our clients with the best solution for their holiday / vacation with up to date information and the highest level of service. (more about M.A.C.)

You can also use our real time booking system to make your hotel reservations online.
By Spring 2010 you will be able to use our real time booking system to book excursions, car hire, flights and ferry tickets.
M.A.C. replies fast / usually in under 24 hours.
When making an enquiry via telephone you will also be request to provide an email address or fax number as all
further correspondence will need to be in writing to ensure the best quality of service and avoid error.

A4: A Down / Full Payment (See Below) will be required to secure your reservation.
Once your reservation is confirmed you will receive written confirmation along with the official hotel voucher either via email or fax.

A5: We request that any required changes or cancellations to be submitted in writing either via fax or email.
We do however understand that changes may arise due to weather conditions, cancelled flights etc and you may
not have access to either email or fax and in these cases we can also accept changes via telephone.

A6: We do not charge a service fee (except for flights). The official rack rates from the hotel owners, tour providers,
car rental agencies are the final rates that you pay.
Short stays - 1 or 2 nights-  are billed with a 10% surcharge (except maybe 4 and 5 star hotels).

A7: Cancellations accepted only in writing, either by e-mail or fax. General Rules:
- Cancellations maximum one month before arrival date, carry no cancellation fee except our initial 15 Euro booking fee
for expenses and work done.
- Cancellations made 1 month to 3 weeks prior arrival date impose a 30% of total reservation cost fee.
- Cancellations between 3 weeks and 2 weeks prior to arrival date, impose a fee representing 50% of total reservation cost.
- Cancellations made less than 2 weeks prior to arrival date, "no-shows", or shortened stays with no prior advance notice, carry a full charge; no re-imbursement possible.
Some properties however have very strict cancellation policies which differ from the policy mention above. In these cases we will advise you of the hotel cancellation policy prior to proceeding with the reservation. ( see here for more about cancellations and refunds..)

A8: In the case where we have confirmed a reservation for you and you wish to pay online you will be requested to register with our real time booking system. Once your registration is complete we will enter your reservation details and you can then log in to make the payment online.

A9: When using our real time booking system you will notice that the hotel status is either BOOK NOW or REQUEST.
A property will have a REQUEST status in the event of limited availably or when your dates of stay are less than the minimum stay required. Your request is then looked into by our availability department. If the room requested is available we will automatically change the status of your reservation to CONFIRMED in order to allow you to proceed to the payment page and complete your reservation.
When a Request can not be confirmed you will receive an email with other property proposals similar to the initial request.

A10: Credit Card providers will on occasion block transactions from International Merchants in order to prevent fraud.
You may find that your credit card is declined although you have sufficient funds and have not exceeded your daily transaction limit.
In this case you will need to notify your credit card provider and advise them of the transaction in order to have the card unblocked.
It is also a good idea, when travelling in general, to advise your credit card providers / banks of your travel destinations to avoid any problems whilst abroad.

A11: All prices are quoted in Euro (€) and valid at reservation time.
M.A.C uses official hotel rates, approved by the Greek National Tourist Organization. Hotel prices are in Euro and include all taxes
With most properties breakfast is also included.

A12: M.A.C. is not a hotelier and the only way to secure a reservation is by way of pre-payment basis. Once availability is confirmed - usually within 24 hours - we request a down payment to secure your reservation.

A13: The only 100% guarantee of a reservation is by way of a prepayment MAC will many times have to pre-pay the hotel owners. Especially for the limited amount of self catering units (studios - apartments - houses and villas the lodging owners require very early full prepayment.

A14: Full payment is usually made one month before arrival especially for self-catering property bookings. Last minute bookings need to be prepaid in full right away.
A15: We accept bank wire transfers, all major credit cards by way of the credit-card authorization fax-form or secured payment via our " real time booking" system or through PayPal. Accepted credit or payment cards: Master Card, Visa, American Express, and Diners.
(Maestro, Cirrus and are Eurocard are also accepted, however only for transactions which take place at our agency
in person as a PIN will be requested). click for more info...
A16: Our real-time booking system at " bookings.mykonos-accommodation. com" uses the latest 128 bit SSL encryption technology and is protected from unauthorized interception. Our more traditional fax form for credit payments has never created any problems and we have used this method for more than 10 years now.

A17: By airplane from Athens Airport with our time schedule or direct charter flights from many European airports
and by ferry or speed boat from Piraeus Port, or Rafina see our boat schedules.

A18: Soon we will have an online reservation system for flights, for the moment you can email us
your domestic / international flight requests

A19: By spring 2010 MAC will also provide an online booking system for boats, ferries all over Greece.

A20: In most cases our clients book with us a arrival pick-up transfer by minibus to the hotel from airport or port, or for centrally located
and some self-catering properties MAC arranges a car pick-up. Transfers are an optional extra however we highly recommend that our clients utilize this service to avoid the frustration of getting lost or not been able to find a Taxi.
If you do not wish to use the transfer service the Property details can be found on your Voucher along with the property contact numbers.

A21: As Taxi availability on Mykonos Island is very limited, we strongly advise customers to pre-arrange a pick up transfer (shuttle).
In peak season (mid-June till end September) arrival transfer by small hotel bus or taxi is essential. Cost 10€ (per person per way) from airport or harbour to all hotels, pensions, furnished apartments, holiday homes and villas.
Departure-transfer can be arranged either by yourself or via us.

A22: As bus services run only to the most central and popular beaches and taxis are limited,
MAC fully recommends bike or car / jeep rental.
Like this you will be free at any time of day or night to enjoy all more remote beaches and Mykonos Island areas.

A23: Buses start from 3 different locations on Mykonos Island and service the more popular beach destinations and the town of Ano Mera. They generally run every hour or half hour till quite late at night. Taxis are to be found at the 2 main town squares. There are also water taxis (caiques) leaving from Platys Gialos available servicing the South Coast beach destinations. more on local transportation..
